Federation Governing Body Committees

Chairs’ Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • To take a strategic overview of the work of the Governing Body and plan each terms work accordingly;
  • To review the policy list and initiate policy and planning discussions;
  • To monitor the governance arrangements and ensure that the Governing Body complies with best practice.

 

Communications and Community Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • To take a strategic overview of the Governing Body’s and the school’s communications with parents ,carers and the wider community;
  • To make recommendations in respect of innovations and updates to existing modes of communication with budget considerations.

 

Outcomes and Attainment Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • Monitoring and reviewing target setting;
  • Monitoring of attainment and standards for all pupils;
  • Monitoring, reviewing and ratifying whole school policies connected with learning and teaching;
  • Monitoring teaching and learning outcomes across the schools.

 

Pupil Welfare Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • To ensure that safeguarding and child protection is promoted throughout the Learning Federation;
  • To be consistent with and seek to achieve the priorities identified in the School Development/ Improvement Plan;
  • Comply with legislation and Government guidance on education and the law for School Governors.

Terms of Reference:

 

Curriculum and Staff Development

Terms of Reference:

  • School Development Plan- the committee is to meet to give approval to the plan and subsequently monitor whether those objectives are being achieved;
  • Monitoring of pupil welfare; permanent exclusions; curriculum; National Curriculum; modifications and disapplications; Primary Strategies;
  • Reviewing implications from any complaints that are relevant to the work of the Committee;
  • Make recommendations for staff training and development relevant to changes in curriculum;
  • Maintain a record of staff CPD requirements.
